Metro DX Meeting December 16, 2011

The meeting was called to order by President Bob Jacobson, K9CJ leading the Pledge of Allegiance, at approximately 7:33.

The club needs a secretary/treasurer.  K9CJ requested volunteers.  After some discussion, W9ILY volunteered for a one year term.  Because he is the only candidate, a vote is not necessary.  Congratulations John!

Our annual Winterfest Dinner will be held on Jan. 20, 2012 at the Ashford House, 7959 West 159th St. in Tinley Park . Members are to inform N9ORD if they will be attending.  Proposed prizes include subscriptions to; QRZ DX bulletins, Year of DX, and Weekly DX bulletins. 

Because there was not a meeting in November, a call for new business began.

Treasurers Report $75.01 on hand and a bank balance of $1,036.64.

There has been one more applicant for the W.U.S.T. award since the last meeting. 

Contest update:  CQ 160 (CW) K9PMV 8^th place, NV9X 11^th place, and W9OA 12^th place.  New contests include Straight Key Night, ARRL RTTY round up and the NA QSO party.

IRC and Bureau problems, procedures, and success stories were discussed amongst attendees.

Dues were collected from every attendee. 

The business portion of the meeting ended at 8:09

A video on the VP8ORK DXpedition was viewed with great enthusiasm and plenty of laughter. 

Members attending meeting include; K9CJ, N9LAH, W9ILY, NV9X, K9PMV, N9AKR, K9BWQ with XYL Delores, and W9NKV.
