Metro DX Club Meeting Minutes
September 18, 2015 There was nothing to report
about Health and Welfare. OLD
BUSINESS: The MINUTES were distributed. A motion was made by N9AAC and seconded by
K9CJ to accept. The TREASURERS REPORT was distributed by John, W9ILY. Income of $159.40
was from two new members’ dues, WUST awards, July 50/50 and QSL card sales
from the W9LNQ estate. Expenses were $255.08 for liability insurance, web domain
costs, postage and meat for our picnic. The entire Treasurer’s Report is
available in the “files” section of our Metro Yahoo Group. A motion to approve the
treasurer’s report was made by N9LAH and seconded by KM9M. WUST
Awards have been earned by 118 operators including 18 Metro DX members. CLUB
PICNIC: A
brief report was given by N9LAH. All had a fun time and were well fed. DXpedition
funding is to be put on hold until next year. Nothing is conclusive at
this time about the Tinley Park EOC amateur radio antenna. An antenna would
require a small footprint with no or minimum radials. A multi-band vertical
dipole might be a consideration such as a TW Antenna (Trans World) or a GAP
Titan antenna. Club HATS can be ordered through K9DRS and club NAME BADGES from the SIGNMAN of OHIO. A report on the W9DXCC
event was made by several members who were in attendance. A prize recipient was
W9ILY of a K1N beer stein. It was agreed everyone in attendance was a winner. NEW
BUSINESS W4DXCC
will be held in Pigeon Forge,
Tennessee Sept. 25-26.
