DX Club Meeting Minutes September
23, 2016 The meeting was called to
order by President Jim N9TK with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag at 19:28. OLD
BUSINESS: Health
and Welfare: Nothing to report The MINUTES of the previous meeting were moved approved by K9TP and
seconded by N9TK. The TREASURERS REPORT was distributed by John, W9ILY. $946.18 is
available for donations. Income of $107.71 was from dues, split the pot,
donations and estate sales. Expenses of $378.01 were incurred for insurance,
pizza party, picnic, postage and web costs. A motion to approve the
treasurer’s report was made by K9TP and seconded by N9ORD No WUST activity to report this month. CONTEST
RESULTS: In the ARRL International DX
Phone Contest winning scores included NV9L #1 in NA Multi-Single high power and
W9ILY #10 in single op 15 meters. A big THANK YOU was given to
our picnic hosts Phil N9LAH and XYL Cindy. The EOC antenna is still on hold pending an administrative decision. NEW
BUSINESS Contests
scheduled in the near future were
mentioned. A report of the W9DXCC
convention was presented from those in attendance. Special
Event Station: We will have a special
event operation honoring Walter Cronkite’s 100th anniversary of his
birth. We will use the call W9C which we have for one week beginning on October
31st through November 5th. A sign up and schedule list has
been developed. Operations will be from your home QTH although N9TK will have
his shack open for operations on Saturday November 5. Check with Jim for his
schedule. The sign up spread sheet
will be using “DROP BOX” to share the schedule. Comments were made about on
Remote Station operations. The cost could be up to $4.00 per minute. Nominations for club
officers will be open at a future meeting. General
Discussion: Following a motion to
adjourn by KA9BBQ and seconded by K9PY the meeting was called to a CLOSE at 20:08. Following a short break,
Jim, N9TK gave a presentation on BOUVET
3YØZ describing the challenges and budget. This DXpedition is scheduled for
early in 2018. A movie on VP8ORK South
