Metro DX Club Winterfest
On
January 16, 2015 our club celebrated our annual Winterfest dinner at the Harvest
Room Restaurant in Palos Heights. In attendance were a total of 23 members and
guests who were entertained by photographs of members (including silent keys)
participating in club events that were projected on the wall.
Club name badges were given to those who had
ordered them and all appeared pleased with their new badge. Jim Mornar
announced a new competition featuring the K1N DXpedition where everyone at the
dinner made a guess as to the total number or QSOs that K1N would complete. All
guesses were given to N9TK and the results (along with a prize) will be
announced at the next club meeting.
As is usual at the Winterfest, there were door prizes lots of door prizes.
During the festivities, the winners of the 2014 Worked All Europe Challenge were
announced with the winners being WG9V in Level One, NV9X in Level Two and W9ILY
in Level Three. In 2015, the club competition will be for the "Most
Improved DXer" who will be the one who works the most All Time New Ones in
2015. This will be a great incentive to our newer members! Later a
split the pot drawing was won by Mike, K9AJ.
Everyone had an enjoyable evening! Here are some photos from the
dinner for your enjoyment:
